Back when motorcycles were as big a part of my life as dogs are now, I wanted a Ducati for so long I could taste it. Since I waited for my first field bred vizsla a comparable time (and excitement level!), I chose a kennel name that honors the motorcycle I eventually gave up in favor of field trialing.

My first Vizsla was a rescue (breeder rehome) in 1992. Lightning was a special dog that really *needed* me. Our bond was unbreakable and he will always hold a special place in my heart for the struggles we shared and the lessons he taught me.

Next came the Duc-man. He is from field lines and has proven to be an excellent gun dog with lots and lots of desire for hunting birds. People that ride Ducati motorcycles affectionately refer to them as “Ducs” (pronounced Duck) so that’s how his pet name came to be.

Rumble is named after the sound of Ducatis…one of the biggest reasons I loved those motorcycles. I also had a Harley Davidson, but how many dogs have been named Harley??

Now that I am actively field trialing (and occasionally showing or hunt testing) I couldn’t be happier with the path I’ve chosen. Seeing these dogs work, while in the great outdoors and riding a horse no less, is life’s greatest pleasure.

Our first litter of puppies is on the ground and I can’t wait to see how they grow up! The future surely holds more joy and excitement than ever before. I expect healthy and happy Vizslas that love birds and fit well into an active, outdoor family.

New owners should be careful though, they might just get bit by the same bug I have! If I don't have puppies available, I can always refer you to someone who does.
